The Board of Directors has governed Waterfront Action since its
incorporation on October 2, 2003. Current directors include:
Deborah Cooper, retired
Collections Coordinator for the Oakland Museum of California, who has created walking tours and
exhibits of the estuary on behalf of the museum.
Frank Dobson, Principal Architect in charge
of design for JWD Group. He is the lead designer of the architectural
department and has 40 years of experience in the industry.
George Duncan, retired architect and Oakland
resident.
Robert Kidd, an Oakland attorney who has
served as President of the Board of the Jack London Aquatic Center since
its inception in 1995;
Nate Miley, Alameda County Supervisor who,
while serving as an Oakland City Council member, formed and facilitated
the Waterfront Roundtable.
Ann Richter, a long time board member of
Friends of Oakland Parks and Recreation and now a resident of Alameda.
She is active in the Friends of the Wildlife Refuge in Alameda.
Doug Siden, Board Member, East Bay Regional
Park District, founding member of the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom
Center, Oakland.
Sandra Threlfall, founder and chair of the
Waterfront Coalition, participated in a study of the waterfront and its
heritage on behalf of the League of Women Voters, and was a member of
the Estuary Plan Advisory Committee (1997-1999).
Rick Wiederhorn, retired Planning Director
for the Port of Oakland and Project co-Manager of the Estuary Plan
process.
Brian Wiese, Planner with the East Bay
Regional Park District, waterfront activist and Board Member of the San
Francisco Bay Trail Project.
Richard Winnie, who authored the League of
Women Voters Waterfront Study. He is Alameda County Counsel and
formerly served as Oakland City Attorney and as a member of the Estuary
Plan Advisory Committee (1997-1999)
